EPS Pension Calculator (India)
Estimate your monthly pension under the Employees' Pension Scheme (EPS) — the pension part of your EPF, often searched as the "EPF pension". Enter your pensionable salary and years of pensionable service.
Quick answer: EPS (EPF) pension = pensionable salary × pensionable service ÷ 70. For a ₹15,000 pensionable salary and 30 years of service that is ₹6,429 a month.
The Employees' Pension Scheme (EPS) pays a monthly pension to eligible EPF members after retirement. The pension is calculated from your average pensionable salary and your years of pensionable service, using a fixed formula. This calculator gives an estimate — enter your pensionable salary and service above. If you also want the EPF corpus itself (not the pension), use our EPF calculator.
EPF pension and EPS — the same thing
People often search for an "EPF pension calculator", but the pension part of the EPF is the Employees' Pension Scheme (EPS). Of the employer's 12% EPF contribution, 8.33% goes to EPS (the pension), which is what pays your monthly pension after retirement — so an EPF pension calculator and an EPS pension calculator are the same tool. The lump-sum EPF balance is separate and is worked out in the EPF calculator.
How EPS pension is calculated
Pensionable salary is the average of your last 60 months' pensionable wages, generally capped at ₹15,000 a month unless you opted to contribute on a higher wage.
| Salary × service | Monthly pension |
|---|---|
| ₹15,000 × 20 | ₹4,286 |
| ₹15,000 × 30 | ₹6,429 |
| ₹15,000 × 35 | ₹7,500 |
Worked example
Pensionable salary ₹15,000 with 30 years of service: (15,000 × 30) ÷ 70 = ₹6,429 a month.
Pensionable service and bonus
If your pensionable service is 20 years or more, EPS adds a 2-year bonus to your service in the formula. Early pension (from age 50) is reduced, and there are minimum-pension provisions. Because the ₹15,000 cap and rules are set by EPFO and can change, treat this as an estimate.
