Salary Hike Calculator

Find your new salary from a hike percentage, or the hike % between your old and new salary. Fill your current salary and either the hike % or the new salary — leave the other blank.

A salary hike calculator works two ways. If you know the percentage rise you're being offered, it gives your new salary; if you already know the old and new figures, it tells you the percentage increase. Both use the same simple relationship between the increase and your current pay.

How to calculate a salary hike

New salary = current × (1 + hike% ÷ 100)
Hike % = (new − current) ÷ current × 100
Current ₹50,000, hikeNew salary
10%₹55,000
20%₹60,000
30%₹65,000
50%₹75,000

Worked example

If your current salary is ₹50,000 and the new offer is ₹65,000, the increase is ₹15,000, so the hike is 15,000 ÷ 50,000 × 100 = 30%.

CTC, in-hand and hike

A hike is usually quoted on CTC (cost to company). Because tax and deductions apply, a 30% CTC hike does not translate to a 30% rise in take-home pay. Use the percentage on the same basis — CTC to CTC, or in-hand to in-hand — to compare offers fairly.

Frequently asked questions

How do I calculate my hike percentage?
Subtract your old salary from the new one, divide by the old salary, and multiply by 100.
What new salary does a 10% hike give on ₹50,000?
₹55,000 — an increase of ₹5,000.
Is a hike calculated on CTC or in-hand?
Usually on CTC. Keep both figures on the same basis when comparing.
How do I add two hikes together?
Apply them one after another, not by adding the percentages — e.g. 10% then 10% is a 21% total rise, not 20%.
